Emily has over two decades of experience programming, planning, and designing healthcare, community, and higher education projects at architecture+. She approaches projects with a thoughtful, human-centered perspective, grounded in a clear understanding of how the built environment directly impacts the people who use it. Whether designing behavioral and mental health facilities or a higher education environment, she recognizes the design decisions that shape the experiences of patients, staff, faculty, and the broader community. Her hands-on experience guiding project implementation, paired with an ability to think ahead and anticipate the downstream implications of decisions, has earned her a proven track record of delivering high-quality construction documents and responsive construction administration across a variety of complex facility types.

Beyond her project work, Emily is a trusted team leader, a member of the firm’s Patient Safety Team, and architecture+’s go-to expert on doors and hardware – a specialty with particular importance in mental health settings, where product selection plays a critical role in patient safety and ligature-resistant design. She has also generously volunteered her time and leadership to numerous private and local government organizations throughout her career.
