Pitts of architecture+ receives national recognition

architecture+ has announced that Francis Murdock Pitts, FAIA FACHA OAA, has been named as the 2018 Changemaker Award recipient by The Center for Health Design’s Board of Directors. Given annually at Healthcare Design Expo & Conference, the award honors individuals or organizations that have demonstrated exceptional ability to change the way healthcare facilities are designed and built, and whose work has had broad impact on the advancement of healthcare design.

As the founding partner and president of architecture+, Francis (Frank) Murdock Pitts is an advocate, educator, and designer, and is internationally recognized for his impact on the design of healthcare facilities with particular recognition for his groundbreaking work in the planning and design of psychiatric facilities.

“I am humbled by this honor. The list of previous recipients includes many of my personal heroes and mentors in healthcare design. They have inspired me to challenge myself, my colleagues and my clients, to re-imagine the healing potential of the built environment for those who can benefit most” said Pitts.

Frank will officially accept the Changemaker Award and be the keynote speaker on Monday, November 12, 2018, at the Healthcare Design Expo & Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
