Awosting Hall Renovation
SUNY New Paltz|New Paltz, NY
Awosting Hall is one of five residence halls on the Peregrine Quad. After completing a comprehensive residential Master Plan in 2009, architecture+ focused on the plan’s implementation. This included the siting and construction of a new +200-bed residence hall and conceptual design for renovating the five, 200-bed Peregrine Quad residence halls - Ashokan, Shawangunk, Minnewaska, Awosting, and Mohonk.
For Awosting’s new residents, the building was more than a housing upgrade; it was also a symbol of the community’s resilience. Prior to its reopening, Awosting had served as the University’s COVID-19 testing site and an isolation space for students recovering from illness.
