The Gurley Building, originally designed by Marcus Cummings, is part of the historic Russell Sage College campus. The building has been extensively renovated during its history. In 1960, the original windows were replaced by a new aluminum strip system to accommodate a new floor added to the interior. We renovated the exterior to restore stonework and introduced new windows to return the building to its original appearance.
The Robison Common Arch complements the historic ironwork on the campus. We recreated iron fencing to match intricate details of the original (designed and fabricated by local iron master Edward Beebe).
These projects were recognized with an Excellence in Historic Preservation Award from the Preservation League of New York State.
