Bush Memorial Center, one of the finest examples of the Greek Revival architectural style in the United States, serves as an elegant, formal approach to the historic Russell Sage College campus. It was originally designed in 1836 by James Dakin as the First Presbyterian Church.
architecture+ was selected to design the complete interior and exterior renovation. Interior work included structural trusses, a new sound system, stage, video projection system and seating. Exterior restoration included re-establishing the broad marble entry steps, cheek walls and plaster finishes.
This project received an Excellence in Historic Preservation Award from the Preservation League of New York State and an Honor Award from the Capital District Masonry Institute.
