This energetic, open-access computing facility and lounge is the hub of the campus. The Computer Cafe is separated from the Campus Center lobby by glass block walls and is open to the dining area above. Windows are separated by perforated steel fins, inside and outside, that diffuse the natural light.
The Cafe features 90 fully-networked computer workstations and a Help Office. Various arrangements and styles of computer workstations accommodate group study, private research/instruction or social interaction. The facility also includes a Training Room with 18 dedicated workstations.
As a complement to the unconventional design, the school broke protocol to allow a cafe cart into the space to furnish refreshments and snacks throughout the school day thereby offering a more relaxed atmosphere for learning, instructing and communicating.
