architecture+ prepared a feasibility study and designed the renovation of the library to improve space utilization of the existing building. We connected the main library spaces on the first and second floors with a new opening. The opening, along with the addition of an elevator, allowed the library to expand its collection space without sacrificing supervision.
The new opening also brought a stronger sense of light and unity to the historic building that is further enhanced by the new finishes. The use of detail tied the new work into the building's existing character.
