The renovation of Kennedy Towers Apartments was named to McGraw-Hill Construction’s Best of 05 for New York State. architecture+, working with Turner Construction for the Troy Housing Authority, completed a major renovation that reconfigured this 21-story building from 265 apartments to 135 apartments for senior citizens.
Communal dining, social, recreational and counseling spaces were added to provide a supportive living environment. The rehabilitation was phased so that the building could remain occupied during construction. The Best of 05 awards honor the most successful projects that exhibit creative solutions to project challenges through extraordinary teamwork.
