March 21, 2019

architecture+, a design and service oriented architecture and planning firm in Troy, New York, is pleased to announce that we received an Interior Award of Merit from the American Institute of Architects Eastern New York Chapter for the Milne Library Renovations at SUNY Oneonta. The project was completed for the State University Construction Fund.

Awards were presented on March 20 at the Opalka Gallery at The Sage Colleges in Albany, New York. Jury comments included “This project exhibits a very playful feel with shapes and colors”; “This project effectively utilizes furniture, booths, area ceiling, and colors to integrate various programs within an open plan building”; and “The solution is simple but elegant.”

This project was undertaken to enhance core library function spaces while improving the student experience with the addition of new program areas. Program areas introduced into the library included the Academic Success Center, Accessibility Resources, and a Learning Commons.
